Phillip Abbott Luce (1935-1998) was then the chairman of the Student Committee for Travel to Cuba. He had traveled to Cuba under the auspices of the pro-Red Chinese Progressive Labor Party. As a result, he was indicted. Others students who went to Cuba and he, testified before the House Un-American Activities Committee.
